  • According to the girl I spoke to on the phone, they add 2-3 dishes on weekends

Ever since Vikings opened , It has been a big hit. People would line up outside just to be first in line, but when buffet 101 opened, customers started to choose between the newly opened Buffet 101 or stay loyal to Vikings.

Vikings

For the quality and deliciousness of the food, definitely Vikings is the place to go. The only problem I encountered with their food was that the first batch of crabs were "alimango" and the next batches became "alimasag". Vikings has strict employees, they wont give you more than 3 pieces of beef  (Angus beef). Even though you argue that the line is too long and it would be hard to come back. (trust me, I've tried) Also, they are very strict when it comes to the height of children, even though you surpass the limit by just a little, your tall-little-sister that eats only ice cream is considered an adult. =)

Buffet 101

The design of the place is great. It is like you are eating in a 5-star restaurant. The food is OK. Most of the food served is "ordinary" food that aren't worth it to be eaten in a buffet. The fruit shakes tasted like water. I suggest you drink their lemonade which is very good.
Their steaks tasted like ordinary beef. Which is very disappointing, considering i love eating beef especially steaks.
Since I ate with my friends, I wasn't able to see if they are as strict as Vikings when it comes to the height requirement of kids.

My Opinion

So, in my opinion, I would rather eat in Vikings rather than in Buffet 101. Yes, buffet 101 is cheaper...but for a frequent buffet eater like me, it didn't satisfy the sense of joy that I experience when I eat in a buffet. And for the difference in price range of only about 100-300 pesos, Vikings has a wider variety of food. So, definitely Vikings is much worth it. But i must warn you, It isn't a wise choice to just walk in and expect to have a seat and eat right away. You'd better make a reservation to assure that you can eat at that same day.
